With the announced but completely unverified death of Osama bin Laden they immediately went to work to find a new threat. Napolitano stated that now the threat is "U.S. residents willing to carry out attacks with little or no warning" and Gonzales stated the "next terrorist attack is going to be conducted by someone who looks like you or me, speaks perfect English, is probably a citizen of the United States or has the capacity to move freely in the United States".
According to Alberto Gonzales this may
be what the next terrorist looks like
So, according to Alberto, the next terrorist will either look like him or like one of 300 million+ other citizens of the United States. It could be Lil' John or Lindsay Lohan or Al Pacino! We must be ever vigilant!
Oh wait, Lil' John doesn't speak perfect English... or anything that even sounds like a decipherable language. So it's probably not him.
Note, as well, how Alberto threw in that the next terrorist will likely have the "capacity to move freely in the United States". Well, we'll just have to make sure that is not something anyone can do then, right, Alberto?
On cue, Charles Schumer lurched up to the mic and announced:
“Anyone, even a member of al-Qaida could purchase a train ticket and board an Amtrak train without so much as a question asked... So that’s why I’m calling for the creation of an Amtrak no ride list."
Yes, ANYONE could buy a train ticket without being questioned by the Government! The horror!
Then, whipped into a frenzy, both the American public and the media presstitutes began to fill in the rest of the blanks.
Yesterday, alone, there were numerous homegrown terror attacks.
In one instance, a Dallas area Rapid Transit train was evacuated after a poor old man asked for some help exiting the train with his packages. After being turned down by many people, obviously aware of the risks of helping an older man with some packages, he even began to offer to pay people to help him, causing even more panic. Luckily the government came to the rescue and bomb technicians with the Dallas Police Department determined the packages were not a threat about two hours after the evacuation.
Outrageously, the old man has still not been charged although he spent many hours in interrogation.
In another widely reported terrorist attack, a man was detained at Denver airport for videotaping three people near a TSA screening checkpoint! A man, possibly going on vacation, videotaping his friends?
These are truly dangerous times.
Terror reigned in the skies as well as a man was said to have mistaken the impenetrable cockpit door for a bathroom door and banged on it causing panic. One passenger stated, "Could this be it? Are we going down?"
There was even a few people found wandering on some deserted subway tracks in New York City causing panic.
All in all it was an incredibly harrowing day.
So, just remember, until the Government can get all the checkpoints and No Ride lists in place, and get more baby patdown stations set-up, be ever aware and vigilant for old men needing help with packages and people videotaping their friends at the airport.
If we aren't, who knows what kind of horrible things might happen.
