57 Senators Sign Letter To Protect Second Amendment Rights From UN


WASHINGTON  – U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) joined his colleague Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) and 43 other Senators in expressing grave concern about the dangers posed to Second Amendment rights by the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty. In a letter to President Obama and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, the 45 senators said they would oppose ratification of an Arms Trade Treaty that in any way restricts the rights of law-abiding American gun owners. This is enough to block the treaty from Senate passage, as treaties submitted to the U.S. Senate require approval of two-thirds of Senators present to be ratified.

UN Tells Mexico To Withdraw Army From War Against Drug Cartels

A United Nations report has called on the Mexican government to consider withdrawing the army from the war against the drug cartels.

The report slams the army out for its role in the escalating drug violence, noting that the growing number of "disappearances" in Mexico can't just be attributed to organized crime gangs.

Libya’s government announced an immediate cease-fire on March 18, a day after the U.N. Security Council approved a no-fly zone over the North African country. The move complicates European efforts to spearhead a campaign against Libyan government troops. Assuming Tripoli follows through on its declaration, the affect on operations against the Libyan rebels remains in question.

UN Votes To Intervene In Libya

The UN Security Council has just passed a resolution to intervene in the ongoing crisis in Libya.


Earlier today Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has warned Libyan rebels in their stronghold of Benghazi that his forces are coming within hours and there would be no mercy for those who fight them. This undoubtedly added increased pressure for the UN to act quickly.
